In the fall of 1969 I went into Education at the University of Manitoba and in 1970 got my Certificate of Education. In 1971 I continued on and got a Bachelor of Education.
In 1972, my wife Hazel, and I, went north to Little Grand Rapids and taught there for two years. In 1974 we moved to Sandy Bay Reserve on the west side of Lake Manitoba and taught there for one year.
At this item I decided that teaching was not for me and in 1974-75 took a 10 month electrical course at Red River C.C, and went to work for Goodman and Kojima, a Winnipeg electrical company as an electrical apprentice.
When Hazel and I left Sandy Bay we bought a house at Gunton, where we still live.
I worked as an apprentice with Goodman and Kojima for one year and then moved on to apprentice with O.G. McEwen Electric, doing mostly new schools and hospitals in Manitoba. I became a journeyman electrician and in 1985 went on my own as owner/ operator of Ridley Electric.
In 2002, Hazel and I bought a cottage at St. Laurent on Lake Manitoba. This year I am retiring and hope to spend many years at the cottage.
