Clayton Manness
- married to Cheryl (40 years last November)
- four grown children (3 married)
- nine grandchildren (so far)
Since graduation, I have:
- farmed, with Cheryl, and our sons, at Domain for 40 years
- lived there also, but now at La Salle
- worked for the Canada Grains Council, Cargill, the constituents of Morris for 14 years (1981-1995) as MLA, and myself as President of ManAgra Capital Inc.
- do not expect to retire any time soon.
During the past 40 years:
- our farm has grown into a large, modern grains and oilseeds enterprise
- Cheryl and I have visited several different parts of the world
- I was given the responsibility of leading the Ministries of Finance and Education, plus Chairman of Treasury Board, plus Government House Leader
- Co-founded the development of Prairie Flour (Elie), Prairie Flax (Portage La Prairie west), Prairie Pulp and Paper (Winnipeg), and PrairieView Park (La Salle).
I Wish and Hope:
- that our country Canada remains strong and free
- that my grandchildren grow to be solid citizens
- that our health remains fair to good as long as possible
- that taxes remain low
- and, that all my remaining fellow graduates (the class of ’69) maintain good health and strong family ties.
BEST OF WISHES TO ALL.
